Mount Ayr’s Jaxson Greene Signs with Spartan Golf Program

Southwestern Community College Head Golf Coach Doug North has announced the signing of Mount Ayr native, Jaxson Greene, to the Spartan men's golf program. Greene, a standout for the Mount Ayr Raiders, will continue his academic and athletic career at SWCC beginning in the fall of 2026.

Greene has been a consistent performer throughout his high school career, earning All-Conference honors in the Pride of Iowa Conference as both a sophomore and junior. He was also named the POI Sophomore of the Year, helping lead the Raiders to three consecutive conference championships.

Known for his sharp wedge play and steady putting, Greene brings both skill and composure to the course. His personal-best rounds include a 66 at the Mount Ayr Golf & Country Club, achieved during a memorable round alongside his father, and a nine-hole score of 32, besting both his brother and father in friendly competition.

"I felt like Southwestern is trying to build a great golf program, and I wanted to be a part of it," Greene said. "Coach North was incredibly helpful during the recruiting process, and I'm excited to contribute in any way I can—on and off the course."

Greene began playing golf at just two years old under the guidance of his father, David Greene, who remains one of his greatest influences. He currently plays a mixed set of clubs, highlighted with his infamous Scotty Cameron putter.

Beyond the fairways, Greene plans to pursue academic excellence, aiming to maintain a GPA above 3.5 while preparing for a career in the golf industry.

"Jaxson has grown up around the game, and it shows in both his approach and consistency," said Coach North. "He understands the work it takes to compete at a high level, and we're thrilled to welcome him into the Spartan Golf family."

Greene is the son of David and Jody Greene of Mount Ayr, Iowa, and has three siblings: Ashlie, Shelbie, and Myles.
