CRESTON, Iowa – The Southwestern Community College men's golf team has announced its 2025 fall competition schedule, featuring a six-event slate that balances early developmental opportunities with proven tournament challenges.

The Spartans will open the fall on Friday, August 22, at the 52nd Annual Highland 36, hosted by Highland Community College in Freeport, Illinois. The format—36 holes in a single day at Park Hills West Course—presents a significant early test for both returning sophomores and incoming freshmen.

Southwestern returns six sophomores from last year's roster, each with experience competing in the team's top five. That group is led by 2025 NJCAA All-American Freddie Muggeridge, who will anchor a veteran lineup throughout the season. A full roster is available here.

"We really like how this schedule builds," said Head Coach Doug North. "We open with a tough 36-hole test, then transition into a few one-day events where we can evaluate our younger players. Our final two events offer elite conditions and deep fields, which should prepare us well for the season in the spring."

Southwestern will compete with ten players at both the Highland and War at the Moor events, allowing freshmen to get early exposure to collegiate competition. With strong internal competition for top-five positions, each event will serve as an evaluation window for player development.

The lone home event at Crestmoor Golf Club—the 2025 War at the Moor on August 29—will feature approximately 80 golfers. It marks one of the largest early-season fields in the region and serves as a showcase for Southwestern's golf facilities and community support.

In September, the Spartans will travel to the NIACC Invitational (Sept. 9) and Graceland Fall Invitational (Sept. 18). Southwestern has won the Graceland event three years in a row and looks to defend its team title at Lamoni Golf & Country Club.

The fall campaign concludes October 20–21 with the Southwestern Fall Finale at Mozingo Lake Golf Course in Maryville, Missouri. The 36-hole event will mark the Spartans' final competition of the semester and is expected to draw a strong regional field.
