On the evening of July 21, 2023, around 10:30 pm, an accident occurred southeast of Creston when a pickup and a car collided. Tragically, injuries sustained in this accident later took the lives of two SWCC dance team members, Ella Leonard and Madalynn Stewart. In their honor, we are forever thankful and blessed to be hosting the 3rd Annual Ella & Maddie Legacy Competition on Saturday, Nov. 8, beginning at 9 a.m., in the Student Center gymnasium!

This event means so much to the friends, family, current dance team members, and former teammates as they remember Ella & Maddie. We are confident these girls will be smiling down on us as we spend the day doing something they loved. 

This year's competition is jammed packed with 100 routines from 20 high school dance teams, color guards, and dance studios. The day will begin around 9 a.m. and finish around 3 p.m. with the awards. The performers will receive audio feedback from an incredible lineup of judges and, in addition, scoring for adjudication awards.

Admission is $5 for K-12th graders and $10 for adults, with proceeds going toward fundraising efforts to attend nationals and award scholarships in memory of Ella & Maddie.
