Southwestern Community College Head Baseball Coach Jordan Camp has announced Beau Rabedeaux as his assistant coach for the 2020-21 season. Camp is entering his second year as head coach for the Spartan baseball program.

Rabedeaux has a wealth of experience on the field as a player, but also brings coaching knowledge and experience to Southwestern.

Most recently the assistant coach for the North Iowa Area Community College Trojans before the COVID-19 pandemic cut all National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) spring seasons short, Rabedeaux is familiar with the conference. He also recruited many NJCAA student-athletes during his time coaching at the four-year level.

“I’m ecstatic about the opportunity to get to work with Coach Camp and help the Southwestern baseball program compete at the national level,” says Rabedeaux.

Rabedeaux, while a graduate assistant at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, was a key part of the Heart of America Athletic Conference baseball regular season championship staff. He has an extensive background in working with pitchers and the defensive infield. He holds school records for his four-year career at The University of Jamestown and led the team to three National Tournament appearances.

“I am really excited to have Beau join the program,” said Camp. “Through the interview process, it was apparent that he is an individual who can help this program reach new heights. His passion for the game of baseball, as well as his drive to improve the student-athletes on an individual level are both exceptional.”

Camp said Rabedeaux has a very in-depth knowledge of both pitching and infield work.

“I am really looking forward to what he will bring to our system as an individual, and continue to help build this program up,” stated Camp.

Rabedeaux earned his master’s degree in business leadership during his graduate assistantship. He will work full-time in the student housing department for Southwestern, as well as assist with field upkeep and maintenance.
