The season ended Wednesday night in Fort Dodge for the Spartan volleyball squad. The Spartans entered the conference tournament as the seventh seed, drawing Iowa Central for the first round. The Tritons beat the Spartans two weeks ago in Creston in four sets. Iowa Central only needed three this time to take the Spartans out of the tournament.
Top performers of the night were Taylor Damewood with 12 assists, Ashley Kopplin with 15 digs, and Sydney Maynes with eight kills and a pair of blocks.
"I'm so proud of the way our girls finished the season," said Spartan Assistant Coach Rand Hazelton. "This season didn't go as well as we had all hoped it would, but when we were down we didn't give up. That shows a lot of toughness. This is a great group of girls and I'm excited to see what the future holds for our sophomores."
